Last year, Louise Carver embarked on a much-acclaimed nationwide tour which comprised of acoustic performances of not only Carver’s best and most recognised work, but also legendary South African hits from the past.
 
‘The Home Tour’ culminated at The Barnyard Theatre in Menlyn Park, Pretoria on 29 October 2008.  Her sincere and beautiful performance was recorded by Sony Music, Carver’s record label. The recording emphasises her musical quality and relevance, the energetic atmosphere of this sold out show as well as Carver’s significant body of work and strong love for her country.
 
Performances on the album include all of Louise Carver’s major hits, as well as an exclusive new remix of ‘Time is a Healer’ by renowned local DJ Justin Vee,. Other performances resonating on ‘The Home Tour – Live’ album includes unique new versions of Johnny Clegg’s ‘Spirit of the Great Heart’, Brenda Fassie’s ‘Too Late for Mama’, Bright Blue’s ‘Weeping’, Mango Groove’s ‘Moments Away’ and Eddy Grant’s ‘Give Me Hope Joanna’.
 
To launch ‘The Home Tour – Live’, Carver will be showcasing the second leg of ‘The Home Tour’ across South Africa in May 2009.
 
In an effort to evoke pride in South African ex-patriots, Carver wants to take ‘The Home Tour’ abroad this year.  “This will hopefully also assert a strong association to our national identity and heritage for anyone interested in South Africa,” says Carver.
 
‘The Home Tour – Live’ CD album will be officially released to all good music retail outlets on 20 April 2009.
